A powerful ad from Barnardos

Posted By: Simon WhiteNovember 15th, 2011

Considering my last blog was about a TV advert I was looking for something else to write about this time but the latest Barnardos advert is so good I had to write a quick blog to show you all.

I wont say much because the advert really does speak for itself but the sign off ‘It doesn’t have to end where it begun’ sent a chill down my spine.

I have said before that truly great adverts get spoken about and I have said several times this week ‘have you seen that ad’. A fantastic idea communicated brilliantly.

Very good, quite emotional, I struggle to watch any advertisements like that. It is communicated very well, and is a simple idea carried through well.

This is an award winning campaign, at least it will be. Hats of to BBH and the actors as well. Click here to follow a link to watch the making of the advert.

I won’t spoil it but watch the making of it and you will hear something even more amazing about the reality of this, look out for Jaysson.

The biggest compliment I can give it is I just donated to the charity on behalf of Acumen! And you get a great sign off thank you from the character, absolutely awesome to the end.

I thought this advert was fab when I saw it. It is cleverly done and really pulls the heart strings. My only disappointment was once they had played the full ad a few times, they then proceeded to put another version on which literally cuts to each child sitting in the chair which is by no means as clever as the flow of the mans life back to childhood.

I like how the website breaks down the different ages, showing what approach they take. An insight to something I knew little about.
