Less words more impact
Driving home from the studio I pass through a busy road junction that has lots of shops and numerous billboards, all competing for my attention. Within this branding/advertising overload my visual senses zoomed in to one very eye-catching advert from Miele. It is clever, fun, engaging, but above all else really stands out in a crowded market place because it is all this while being simple.

Highly reputable food retailers couldn’t get enough of it.

Words or pictures?
Whilst researching a project recently, I came across a great short video called ‘word as image’. It’s by a designer called Ji Lee who, until recently, was New York’s Creative Director at Google. The animation uses 39 words all set in san serif fonts with some very clever typography to illustrate each one.
