I have yet to see this advertisement actually on a TV but heard about it through Twitter and had to look.
It is called ‘The Sound of Taste’ and a beautifully shot slow-motion video that shows bags of spices exploding to music. It is advertising Schwartz Flavour Shots.
Described as a “half-visual, half-auditory”, the video show several tons of black peppercorns, paprika, cumin seeds, ginger and more rigged to explode in sybc with a bespoke musical composition.
The video was created by advertising agency
Grey London, with the help of filmmaker Chris Cairns, musician MJ Cole and pyro-technician Paul Mann.
I love the palette of colours and the whole idea but particularly the slow motion close up shots of the garlic, cloves and various herbs. I bet it smelled fantastic in that studio too. It also makes a change to see a Spice firm doing something different, similar food product adverts tend to focus around family time: mum in the kitchen cooking the food. This is much more artistic and eye catching.
