We have featured various typography skills in this blog, including architectural typography, lyric typography and tasty typography. But almost 200 years ago, British artist L.E.M. Jones produced this elegant series entitled ‘The Landscape Alphabet’.

Created in the 19th century, the collection features ornate landscapes that naturally form each letter of the alphabet. The images include various scenes such as seascapes, foliage and castles to create elaborate detail.

To see the entire series, and some details behind it, please see The British Museum website.
