Pop up typography

I just want to reach out and touch this typography, it so looks like it is proper 3D, I can’t quite believe its not. It’s messing with my head a bit!

Created by Cambridge-bases illustrator Lex Wilson, these skillful typographic illustrations appear to be cut into and pop up from the paper on which they are drawn.

These optical illusions are made even more clever by the way the words relate to their deceptively three-dimensional forms—for instance, a piece that reads “Life: A Series of Ups and Downs” features letters that have been formed by stairs.
