Wired about books

It’s books all the way for me – none of this Kindle rubbish – nothing like a proper book with actual pages in my hands. And if it gets dropped in the bath water I can dry it with a hairdryer!

So anything that promotes books in general is fine by me, but this particular project is such fun and so creative I just had to share it.

Artist Terry Border has given life to old books in his latest series entitled Wiry Limbs, Paper Backs. Border is well known for using inanimate objects and wire to create humorous sculptures.

My second favourite book of all time: George Orwell’s classic 1984 is here, with a big brother style camera. (My favourite book is Brave New World for those interested). But I love the Ian Fleming Goldfinger, which is holding a gold bikini; and Sigmund Freud’s On Dreams, which is holding a notepad and pen.

See more of Terry Border's work on his website – I love the marshmallow sculptures!
