Strive for values that are personal to your company

We talk to clients about defining their values a lot. For some, we discuss the importance of having values and how they can benefit their company in so many ways. A common challenge to developing company values is the idea, “We don’t have anything unique to say, our values will be the same as everyone else’s”. If you know someone who thinks that, the answer is simple: striving for something unique is not the aim; instead strive for something that is personal to you. That is the key. Then your interpretation of that value becomes unique and meaningful.
